Who are the Rotary Nomads? Interested in joining?

We are a member of Rotary International but instead of meeting face-to-face each week like more traditional clubs, we meet online using free, easy to use software. Our members do service work and enjoy fellowship with other members while travelling, or in the towns/cities they live in or at our frequent “club musters” at different locations around Australia. Our members come from a wide variety of home bases - many have RVs and travel frequently both in Australia and overseas. Several members are the partners of members in “traditional Rotary Clubs”. Owning an RV is not necessary to join the Rotary Nomads - if you are a community minded person who likes to lend a hand, the Rotary Nomads may be for you.

Want to attend a meeting to check us out?

We meet every Wednesday night at 7pm Australian Eastern Standard Time. You can connect using any computer, tablet or smartphone. Send an email to rotarynomads@gmail.com a few days beforehand and we’ll send you the easy instructions. If you just want to have a chat about the club, again send us an email and phone number and we will reply.

What do we do?

We are Rotarians and as such we are welcome to attend the weekly meetings of any Rotary Clubs throughout Australia.  We provide community service at home or in our travels and act as volunteers for other Rotary Clubs and service organisations. This community service might be provided by an individual Rotary Nomad or a group of Rotary Nomads.  Importantly, we have fun. We mix with, volunteer with, and socialise with Rotarians and community members from all walks of life!

Our motto is: Helping Hands Across the Land!

Below are listed in a bit more detail just some of the things our club does:

•We support a number of volunteer service activities throughout Australia,

e.g. Chinchilla Home & Garden Expo, Ipswich Country Music Festival,

Kids Fun Run for Thomas in Victoria, Relay for Life, Drought Appeals,

Cancer Council’s Biggest Morning Tea, knitting Trauma Teddies, etc.

•We raise funds through craft expos, sausage sizzles, working bees,

member donations and public donations.

•We get together to attend club musters involving service work,

e.g. Broken Hill, Millmerran, Chinchilla, Coff’s Harbour, Mount Isa, etc.

•We take part in Rotary District Conferences and training days.

•Members visit other Rotary Clubs, talk about what we have to offer, and

volunteer to assist with other clubs’ projects.

•We donate to Rotary’s charity, The Rotary Foundation and other charities throughout Australia e.g. RFDS, Cancer Council, Jodi Lee Foundation, FoodBank, etc.

•We attend online weekly meetings where we follow usual Rotary Routines, including guest speakers, Rotary Education, etc.

•We discuss issues and communicate with members using our website, email and Facebook sites.

•We make an effort to visit other members of our club in our travels throughout Australia.
